The Maine Tin Pedlar Chapter of ATHA meets September through June on the second Saturday of each month  at The Pines (Retirement Community) in Ocean Park, Maine, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Our dues are $10 per year.  Please pay dues in person at one of our meetings or mail them to Harriet Johnson, 7 Deer Run Rd, Falmouth, ME 04105 (make your check payable to Tin Pedlar Chapter or Maine Tin Pedlar).  Please remember you must be a member of ATHA International to be a member of the Tin Pedlar Chapter.

Directions to Ocean Park, ME:  From the Maine Turnpike, use the Old Orchard Beach exit.  After the toll booths, continue straight (do not take any further exits) about 3 miles.  When the road narrows, you will be merging onto Rte 5 South.  At a fork in the road, continue straight (a Christy's store will be on your left).  You are now on Temple Avenue.  After you cross the railroad tracks, take the 2nd right onto Manor Avenue.  The Pines Community Center is the first large building on your right.  There is some parking in front of this building and we can also park along the opposite side of the street (along Manor Ave.).  If you see a barn and horses on your left on Manor Avenue, you have gone too far!  But you may park next to the horse pen!

ATHA (Association of Traditional Hooking Artists) is an international organization whose purposes are to promote interest in rug hooking, to provide and exchange ideas and new information about the art, and to sponsor educational activities to upgrade and improve the quality of rug hooking.  It is a guild open to all designers, teachers, students, and hookers of all levels who are interested in rug hooking and genuinely enjoy sharing ideas and information with each other.  Membership is over 3,000 throughout the world.

By joining ATHA, members will receive six ATHA magazines per year.  These magazines list rug hooking schools, meetings, activities, teachers and suppliers.  It provides educational articles which enrich and inform the membership.  It also showcases members' works in each issue.  To learn even more about ATHA, please visit their website at  http://www.atharugs.com.  ATHA dues are $26 and are payable directly to ATHA.  Per the Tin Pedlar Chapter by-laws, please note that you must be a paid member of ATHA in order to be a member of this chapter.
