MEETING SCHEDULE

INFORMATION FOR ALL MEETINGS:  All meetings, unless otherwise noted, are held at The Pines Community Center in Ocean Park, ME.  Please click on our Membership icon for specific directions.  We meet from 10:00 to 3:00, with our business meeting first followed by our program for the day or general hooking.  Hostesses provide a light morning snack and coffee while we are there, but please bring your own lunch unless otherwise noted on a particular date. Please park on Manor Street.

PROGRAM

September 12, 2009: Jessie Turbayne- Lecture on the History of Rug Hooking; Book Signing

October 10, 2009: Proddy Workshop: Join Alitza Wilde, Faith Webster and Jackye Hansen in making proddy flowers which will be made into center pieces for our May Rug show.

November 14, 2009: Hook-in as well as opportunity to hook on pattern for Mat Swap

December 12, 2009: Christmas Party with Wool Swap and Book signing by Susie Stephenson: “Designing and Hooking Primitive Rugs”

January 9, 2010: Kim Dubay will offer a talk titled: “The Importance of Documenting Hooked Rugs in an Artful Way.”

February 13, 2010: Mat Swap and Learn how to hook animal eyes with Jackye Hanson

March 13, 2010: Annual Auction

April 10, 2010: Rose Ann Hunter: Lecture and class “Heirloom Rugs 1790 to 1850 to Present Day” Class is $35 prepaid which will convene immediately following the lecture.  Class is limited to 20 people. For more information on RoseAnn Hunter go to her website www.roseannehunter.com.

May 8, 2010: Rug Show: Woodford Congregational Church on Woodford Ave. Portland, ME.

June 12, 2010: Results of Rug Show and Award Winners and early close for those that wish to travel to the Bath Rug Show.
