OUR HISTORY:

The name "The Maine Tin Pedlar" was chosen to honor Edward Sands Frost of Biddeford, Maine, who in 1865 was the first to design tin stencils for hooked rug patterns!  Check our Events page for information on the ES Frost exhibit currently showing at the Maine State Museum!

One of less than a dozen local ATHA chapters in New England, The Maine Tin Pedlar Chapter has nearly 70  members.  It was organized by seven ladies in September 1980 and was the sixth chapter to join ATHA.

If you are a visitor to our site, thanks for taking the time to stop by and browse!  We hope you find the information here interesting and helpful.  Please feel free to visit us in person at one of our meetings (see our Membership page for meeting times and location).

If you are a Tin Pedlar member, thanks for utilizing our site!  We hope it is meeting your needs.  Please be sure to check the Members' Minutes page to see what happened at the last meeting.  The Events page covers not only Tin Pedlar events, but regional events as well.  If you have any friendly suggestions for changes, please e-mail rachelj@mainetinpedlar.org!
